In Memoriam

Nedra Talley-Ross

Inducted in 2007, Nedra Talley-Ross sang alongside her cousins Ronnie and Estelle Bennett in the pioneering girl group The Ronettes. Known for incomparable hits including “Be My Baby,” “Walking in the Rain,” and “Baby, I Love You,” the harmony and attitude of the Ronettes helped to define their era. They toured with both the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, contributed to the legendary 1963 album A Christmas Gift to You from Phil Spector, and influenced artists from Brian Wilson to Billy Joel to Amy Winehouse. Talley-Ross, who was of African-American, Native American, and Puerto Rican descent, recorded several Contemporary Christian albums and collaborated with artists including Roger McGuinn.
