Installation of the CBGB awning at the Rock Hall

c. 1987 collection of Adam Burgman, grandson of CBGB founder Hilly Kristal This awning hung above CBGB and served as the club’s signage from the late 1980s until the club closed in 2006. The original CBGB awning was stolen during the mid-1980s. This is now displayed in the lower lobby of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
