The Art of a Young Jimi Hendrix

Jimi clearly thought rock and roll was something cool, even at an early age. Notice how stylized this undated pencil drawing is. The slick hair. The "swinging" poses. Sweat even seems to be flying from the heads of the band. There's nothing really "still" in this scene, and it's a good example that young Hendrix was already an admirer of the rock scene. November 27, 2012 would've been Jimi Hendrix's 70th birthday. As part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum's celebration of the life and career of Jimi Hendrix, the Museum is home to a singular Jimi Hendrix exhibit, including drawings he made as a youngster growing up in Seattle, Washington with his father Al Hendrix.
