James Taylor (vocals, guitar; born March 12, 1948) James Taylor was the pre-eminent singer/songwriter of the Seventies and has remained a solid musical craftsman and performer. Taylor was born in Boston, where his father was a doctor, in 1948. He was the second of five children. In 1951, his family moved to the university town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
