Salsa Across Borders features live music, dynamic performances, and interactive dance experiences. The event invites guests of all backgrounds to connect, learn, and celebrate the global rhythms that unite us.
The Rock Hall is partnering with The Assembly Room once again to host a Salsa Dancing Festival and Competition, presented by the John P. Murphy Foundation. Taking place at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the event will be a vibrant celebration of music, movement, and culture. Featuring live music, dynamic performances, and interactive dance experiences, the event invites guests of all backgrounds to connect, learn, and celebrate the global rhythms that unite us.
This is a free community event that takes place outside on the Rock Hall’s Plaza. Event RSVP is for the outdoor event only, separate admission required for the Museum. Museum admission is always free for Members and City of Cleveland residents through the CLE VIP program.
- 11:00 AM – Live Music & Cultural Welcome
- Guests arrive to the vibrant sounds of live music by Armando Vega & The Band, with open dancing and interactive engagement throughout the space.
- 11:45 AM – African Dance Activation
- A dynamic, participatory experience led by African dancers from Mojuba Dance Collective, inviting the audience into rhythm, movement, and shared energy.
- 11:50 AM – Featured Experience: Asé Community Activation
- An immersive storytelling and light movement experience led by Latecia Wilson and Asé Theatre Project, inviting participants to connect through culture, reflection, and collective expression.
- 12:30 PM – Journey Through Salsa
- A curated series of live performances highlighting the history, evolution, and global influence of salsa; featuring Corazon de Mexico, O’Campo Dance, Latin Dance Studio, Lorain Dance Kitchen, Cleveland Rueda & a special tribute to Celia Cruz and her enduring legacy.
- 2:00 PM – Salsa Dance Competition
- Dancers from across the city compete in beginner, intermediate, and open divisions, showcasing skill, creativity, and passion.
- 4:00 PM – Community Dance Celebration
- The dance floor opens for a high-energy social dance session, inviting all attendees to celebrate, connect, and move together
- 5:00 PM – Awards & Closing
- Competition winners are announced

PARKING: Paid meters and parking lots are available around the museum on East 9th St., Erieside Ave., Alfred Lerner Way (in front of FirstEnergy Stadium) and at the Great Lakes Science Center. You can also use these links to park in other downtown lots, reserve your parking spot in advance or to take public transportation. All sales final, tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase unless the performance is canceled.
