Sheila E., widely recognized as the “Queen of Percussion,” is a Grammy-winning musician, producer, author, philanthropist, and one of the most influential percussionists in modern music. Her groundbreaking career spans decades filled with significant achievements, including becoming the first female solo percussionist honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Her extraordinary career has included collaborations and performances alongside icons such as Prince, Marvin Gaye, George Duke, Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Gloria Estefan, Ringo Starr, Beyoncé, and many others. As a solo artist, Sheila E. helped define a generation with timeless hits including “The Glamorous Life” and “A Love Bizarre.”
Most recently, Sheila E. expanded her artistic legacy with her Grammy-winning salsa album, Bailar, co-produced with Tony Succar and featuring collaborations with Gloria Estefan, Rubén Blades, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Mimy Succar, and others. In 2025, she earned her first Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance for “Bemba Colorá,”received the prestigious DW Lifetime Achievement Award at NAMM, and continues to perform for audiences worldwide, with recent appearances at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London, Blue Note Los Angeles, Miami’s Adrienne Arsht Center, and upcoming performances at the iconic Hollywood Bowl.
