Hot Fun in the Summertime: An Interactive Presentation on Music Festivals

WHERE:   Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Foster Theater

TICKET INFO:  These programs will be available to any Museum visitor with paid attendance. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

MORE INFO:  As part of the exhibit Common Ground: The Music Festival Experience, this multimedia presentation by Rock Hall educators highlights key performances in the history of music festivals and explore their significance in the history of rock and roll music. Performances will include Bob Dylan at the Newport Folk Festival (1965), Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company at the Monterey Pop Festival (1967), Isaac Hayes at WATTSTAX (1972), Radiohead at Glastonbury (1997) and more! Come learn the stories behind these powerful moments of common ground—and share your own festival experiences!

Festival! (1967, 97 min, presented courtesy of Eagle Rock Entertainment):  A documentary film about the Newport Folk Festival, filmed over the course of three festivals at Newport (1963-1965)

Monterey Pop (1968, 79 minutes):  Documentary about the 1967 Monterey International Pop Festival, which launched the careers of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Otis Redding.
