Join us for our 2025 Fall Film Series, where we explore films that highlight the powerful connection between music and comedy, in celebration of our new exhibit SNL: Ladies & Gentlemen…50 Years Of Music.
This week, we’re showcasing the iconic SNL film, The Blues Brothers, a spin off from the TV show’s 1978 recurring musical sketch. After his release from prison, Jake (John Belushi) reunites with his brother, Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) – collectively known as the «Blues Brothers.» When the brothers realize the orphanage they grew up in is closing, they realize that it is «a mission from god» to save it, and they work to raise money by getting their old band back together. However, after playing several gigs and making a few enemies (including the police), the brothers face daunting odds to deliver the money on time.
PARKING: Paid meters and parking lots are available around the museum on East 9th St., Erieside Ave., Alfred Lerner Way (in front of FirstEnergy Stadium) and at the Great Lakes Science Center.
