Join us for our 2025 Film Series, where we explore films that highlight the powerful connection between music, cultural moments, and the stories behind our Rock Hall programming.
This week, we’re showcasing Leave The Door Open—a film that focuses on Ahmet Ertegun and his brother, sons of a Turkish diplomat in DC, who fall in love with rhythm and blues music and the outsider music community that welcomes them with open arms. In 1947, they founded Atlantic Records, the legendary record label that featured the best in jazz, R&B, and soul, including Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, Ruth Brown, and Otis Redding. In the 1960s, the label grew to include Led Zeppelin, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and many other Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees.
