Gift To Support The “Patty And Jay Baker Hall,” Which Will House A Multipurpose Event Space At The Museum 

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is honored to announce that Patty and Jay Baker, philanthropists and longtime supporters of the arts and the Museum, have generously made a $10 million gift to the Museum’s expansion project.

In recognition of their generous support, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is pleased to name the multipurpose event space in the Museum’s new expansion “Patty & Jay Baker Hall.” Baker Hall, a 6,600 square foot multipurpose space with capacity of up to 1,400 people, will allow the Museum to host live music year-round, community and private events, and educational programming.

This is the second major gift the Bakers have made to the Museum’s expansion and renovation in recent years. In December 2018, they contributed $5 million to fund innovative improvements at the Museum.  Combined, these two gifts make the Bakers the largest individual donors to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Patty Baker, a Broadway producer, is a passionate arts and culture advocate and has served on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Board since 2008.

Jay Baker, the former president of Kohl’s Department Stores, grew the company from a regional treasure into a retail giant. In philanthropic partnership with Patty, he now devotes himself to supporting the arts, education, children’s charities and health care.
