The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum

Volunteer Docent Program

A docent is a volunteer who is specially trained to conduct interpretive tours of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum for visitors of all ages. Docents are members of the Rock Hall Roadie Volunteer Program. All docents attend an intensive Docent Training Course which covers the history of rock and roll, the contents of all Museum exhibits and touring techniques. Docents give tours to visitors, members, group sales tours, at special events, train other volunteers and assist with other volunteer opportunities. Docents attend a monthly meeting and continuing education courses offered by the education department. Rock and Roll Night School is a monthly series of education, discussion-based night classes offered free of charge from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on the 4th Wednesday of most months.

The last docent training was completed in 2007. The training dates for this year have not been confirmed yet. Please continue to check back for more information about the next docent training class. If you are interested in learning more about the docent program, please email
