2020 Film Series

Join us on Wednesday evenings starting in February to watch some of the most compelling rock docs available about the artists that have shaped rock's history.

Film Series screenings are free for Rock Hall members and $10 for fans. Each film starts rolling at 7:00pm in Foster Theater on level 4 of the museum. A separate ticket purchase is needed for museum admission. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.

  • Amazing Grace - Wednesday, February 12th. Presented in conjunction with Black History Month, this film spotlights 1987 Inductee Aretha Franklin as she records her live album at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in 1972. 
  • Chuck Berry - Wednesday, February 26th. Presented in conjunction with Black History Month, this new documentary celebrates the life & legacy of the first Inductee of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. 
  • Curaetion-25 - Wednesday, March 6th. This film was captured on the tenth and final night of the 25th Meltdown Festival and is curated by band frontman Robert Smith.
  • Sound of My Voice - Wednesday, March 25th. This film is presented in conjunction with Women's History Month. A musical biography of one of the most successful female singers of all time, 2014 Inductee Linda Ronstadt. 
  • Dennis and Lois - Wednesday, May 13th. Two quirky music fans fall in love and make it their life's mission to serve the bands that bind them.
  • ZZ Top - Wednesday, May 20th. That Little Ol’ Band from Texas unveils the story of three teenage blues musicians: guitarist Billy F Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill, and drummer Frank Beard.
  • Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool - Wednesday, June 3rd. Presented in conjunction with Black Music Month. A critically acclaimed documentary about the famed trumpeter and bandleader, that contains some never-before-seen footage.
  • John & Yoko - Wednesday, June 10th. John and Yoko: Above Us Only Sky shares the untold story of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s unique relationship, and the artistic journey that culminated in the iconic Imagine album

Rock Hall Nights: Mardi Gras

 

Let the good times roll as you dance to jazz music, play instruments, discover the sounds of Mardi Gras, and compete for prizes in our trivia contests. Live music from Revolution Brass Band.

Lecture: Hip Hop Culture and Education

Friday, February 7th from 7-9pm at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

The Intersection between Hip Hop Culture & Education is an interactive dialogue and discovery presenting Hip Hop as a world culture with life affirming principles using videos, audio, narrative, demonstration and performance. Led by Jahi, originally from East Cleveland, Ohio is a MC, artist, and educator who lives in Oakland, California.

Hall of Fame Series with '92 Inductee Booker T. Jones

Wednesday, February 19th from 7-9pm in Foster Theater (level 4)

Hear a live interview from 1992 Inductee Booker T. Jones with VP of Education Jason Hanley about his new memoir, "Time is Tight: My Life Note by Note." A book signing will follow the Hall of Fame series.

Big Sam's Funky Nation Concert

Friday, February 28th at 8pm on the Klipsch Main Stage (level 1)
