Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum presents Rock and Soul Festival


CLEVELAND (June 17, 2011)  --
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will host the 14th annual Rock and Soul Festival on Sunday, June 26, 2011. The event will begin at noon on the Museum's Main Stage. The general public is invited to attend this FREE event, however paid admission is still necessary to tour the Museum. The Rock Hall's Community Festivals are presented by Ohio Natural Gas and sponsored by KeyBank and Amtrak.

The Rock and Soul Festival is a celebration of African American music. The vitality of Black influence on American music and culture has been irresistible; its impact, profound and lasting. This soulful festival features performances by national and local artists and coincides with Black Music Month.

This year's event will feature special live performances from Tony Strong's Phyllies Intruders, Angel P and the Creative players and J Hope and the Champion Sound. In addition, dance tributes will take place in celebration of the Museum's latest exhibit Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power, as well as a dance tribute in remembrance of Michael Jackson. Terry Macklin Entertainment will be providing fun for the entire family with interactive dancing and music trivia, as well.

Visitors are encouraged to come dressed as Rock and Roll inductees, such as Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, James Brown or Prince.
