CLEVELAND (August 26, 2008) - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is pleased to host the Latino Heritage Festival, an annual event that celebrates the rich Hispanic culture and its musical traditions. This colorful event features performances by the best of Latin bands, dance ensembles and vocal groups. The festival is a kick-off to Latino Heritage Month, celebrated September 15 - October 15 every year. The Latino Heritage Festival will take place on the Rock Hall’s front plaza on Sunday, August 31, 2008 from noon to 4 p.m. This event is FREE, however paid admission is necessary to tour the Rock Hall’s exhibits.
This event is made possible through sponsorship by Target and KeyBank and generous support from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. Official media sponsors are WEWS NewsChannel 5 and Radio One.
Music, dancing and modeling will be celebrated over the course of this festive afternoon. The Latino Heritage Festival will feature a wide array of musical talent, including the Isla Del Encanton Dance Group, Negro y Jomi, Imagenes de Mexico and the Sabor Latino Live Music Band, all of which will provide the flavorful soundtrack to an afternoon of entertainment. The Stone Model and Talent Agency will hold a fashion show for the first time at the event, modeling edgy Salsa and Latin looks. If active participation is preferred, festival goers will be pleased to find the Fred Astaire Dance Studio will host a Salsa exhibition with instructor Raymond Cedeno prior to the entertaining Salsa contest.
