The Rock Hall is pleased to welcome DJ Spinderella for a live interview and DJ demo performance on its Foster Theater stage. Dee Dee Roper, internationally known as DJ Spinderella, is a Grammy award winning DJ, producer, rapper and writer. She is one of the original pioneers of hip hop music beginning her career as a member of the iconic rap group Salt-N-Pepa, selling over 15 million albums and singles worldwide. Now, more than two decades after her groundbreaking entrance into hip hop, the Brooklyn native still sets the standard for “turntablist” all over the world, winning MTV and BET Awards along the way. She has also enjoyed success with her radio show “The BackSpin. Movies, and More” symposium at Cal State Dominguez Hills, and has performed DJ sets at high profile events for the official Espy Awards, Academy Awards, Kentucky Derby, Glamour Magazine and more. Spinderella still performs with Salt-N- Pepa, and recently gave an electric performance on Oprah in April of 2011, which showcased “Women Who Rock.”
