Rock Hall Celebrates the Beatles with Magical Mystery Weekend

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will host a weekend of events surrounding the Museum’s special exhibit devoted to the Beatles, one of the most comprehensive collections of Beatles artifacts exhibited to the public in the world.  The weekend will take place Friday, June 15, through Sunday, June 17 and includes special screenings of the digitally re-mastered film Yellow Submarine, Meet the Curator tours, a live performance from Beatles tribute band 1964 and the School of Rock, crafts and activities for children and more. The first 2,000 visitors to the Museum throughout the weekend will also receive a commemorative Beatles collector’s coin.

Saturday, June 16, is also the Rock Hall’s annual Member Appreciation Day.  Members will enjoy special activities throughout the morning while experiencing the Beatles Magical Mystery Weekend.

Friday, June 15

10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.-Paul McCartney Birthday Card Signing (Main Lobby)
·    Throughout the day, fans are invited to sign a large birthday card for Paul McCartney’s 70th birthday. The card will be sent to McCartney after the weekend.

11 a.m.-Noon-Meet the Curator Gallery Talk (The Beatles exhibit)

·    Special in-depth presentation by chief curator Jim Henke examining the historical significance of the collection items in the Museum’s Beatles exhibit.

2 – 3 p.m.-Meet the Curator Gallery Talk (The Beatles exhibit)

Saturday, June 16
8:30 a.m.-Noon- Member Appreciation Day activities throughout the morning and afternoon (Third Floor and Plaza Lobby)
·    Rock Hall Members will enjoy breakfast at the Museum before it opens, a members-only merchandise sale and a State of the Museum address from President and CEO Terry Stewart.

10 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.-Paul McCartney Birthday Card Signing (Main Lobby)


10 a.m.-9 p.m.- Continual screenings of the digitally remastered film Yellow Submarine (Foster Theater, Level 4)

·    Every 90 minutes throughout the day, catch the digitally remastered film Yellow Submarine in HD in the Museum’s Foster Theater. Visit rockhall.com for exact show times.

11 a.m. –Noon - Meet the Curator Gallery Talk (The Beatles exhibit)

Noon - 2 p.m.: Author Larry Marion will sign copies his book, The Lost Beatles Photographs: The Bob Bonis Archive, 1964-1966 (Rock Hall Store)

1 - 2 p.m. - Meet the Curator Gallery Talk (The Beatles exhibit)


1-3 p.m. – “Create Your Own Yellow Submarine” crafts and activities for children (Eat to the Beat, Level 3)
·    Museum visitors will have the opportunity to create their own paper Yellow Submarines as a keepsake in the Museum’s Eat to the Beat room on level 3.

2:30 p.m. - Live performance by Beatles Tribute Band, 1964 (Main Stage)
