Rock Hall Community Festivals

The Rock Hall Community Festival Series are sponsored by KeyBank.

Commitment to the greater Cleveland community
is essential to the Museum.

The Museum’s Community Festivals are designed to offer opportunities for Cleveland’s diverse ethnic communities to become acquainted with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the range of music styles and cultures it celebrates. Each festival offers free entertainment from national and local artists, and activities for the entire family.  These festival days are among the Museum’s most successful events, often with record-setting crowds. The community festivals are organized around the specific themes and dates listed below.

All festivals are FREE and open to the public. Paid admission is necessary to tour the Museum unless otherwise noted.

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., FESTIVAL

Third Monday in January
Monday, January 19, 2015
***Free admission day***
The goal for our Martin Luther King Jr. Day Festival is to give our visitors a platform to connect Dr. King’s work and legacy with the history of rock and roll music that we celebrate in the Museum every day. Music—especially gospel, folk, and soul—was integral to the Civil Rights movement, and rock and roll’s popularity helped to fight racial segregation. We want to bring alive moments when artists used music to bring about social change. Music has this power because it connects people.

We offer an integrated program of live performance and activities for children on the main stage, classes for children and adults, films, a printed activity guide that will draw visitors—especially young visitors—to relevant exhibits, and video selections from our collection at the Library and Archives.
