2011 NEOEA Day Workshop

Are You Ready to Rock?

Popular Music and the K-12 Classroom

Friday, October 14, 2011

9:00am - 3:30pm at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

Come spend a day at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, where teachers rock!  Meet the award-winning Rock Hall educators who design and conduct K-12 programs both on-site and through interactive video-conferencing technology, and discover the ways you can incorporate popular music into your classroom while meeting and exceeding core-curriculum content standards.  Explore the Museum and its educational resources and find ways to help learning come alive for your students.

Rock Hall educators will introduce you to the Museum, spotlight the latest offerings in Rockin’ the Schools and On the Road programming for K-12 students, and show you how to access online resources for classroom use.  Participants will also learn more about professional development opportunities at the Rock Hall and how they can best help you effectively integrate popular music into your own classroom curriculum.

  • The program runs from 9:00am until 3:30pm, but participants are welcome to continue to explore the Museum until 5:30pm, if desired.
  • To register, download the 2011 NEOEA Day brochure (Program #29, page 7) and follow the given directions (registration page found on page 12).  For more information about NEOEA, click here.
  • The cost for NEOEA members is $30.  Non-NEOEA members pay an additional $10.  The deadline for registration is October 7, 2011.
